Every parent knows that getting your kids to bed can sometimes feel like it takes an act of Congress. The effort involved with getting your children’s teeth brushed, bodies cleaned and in to their pj’s can be exhausting. The trick is to give your kids a chance to get rid of some energy before bedtime and then a chance to wind down when they’re done. A bath can be a good transition point into the winding down part of the evening. Once pj’s are on; a calm show, a snack or a family board game are all good options.
The Not So Zen Mom’s tip for a smooth and easy bedtime routine is to start early in order to be prepared when bedtime actually arrives. Our motto…Bedtime: It’s Never Too Early! After dinner, let your kids blow off some steam with a little outside time if the weather permits and if not, how about an indoor Ninja Kata Competition? What the hell is that, you ask? Watch & learn 😉
Never a dull moment at our house! I guess this is what happens when you mix a Greco-Roman Wrestler and a Judo player. Thankfully, our kids are so energetic from the moment they wake up at the ass crack of dawn right up until bedtime, they usually don’t have much fight left in them. If you find yourself battling your kids to bed every night, maybe it’s time to kickoff a post-dinner Ninja Kata Competition like us?!
